Biography:
 Richard Lemmey is Head of the School of Outdoor Studies at the University of Cumbria and was involved in developing the first outdoor degree in 1997. He is a keen outdoorsman and goes to the mountains and open seas for adventure. He believes that the greatest learning very often comes from the unmoderated meeting between a person and nature and that adventure is important to all aspects of life, not just the outdoors, and brings the greatest rewards. “What we wish to learn from nature and what nature wishes to teach can be different things and we are always the better for this.
