Trustees wanted!

We are seeking to strengthen the Mountain Heritage Trust’s Board with the appointment of additional Trustees. If you are interested in supporting mountain heritage and are able to offer around half a day per week, then please read on…

The Trustees provide strategic direction and support to the activities of the Trust through their knowledge, experience and practical skills. We welcome interest from people with a range of skill sets and are particularly keen to hear from those with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

               – Fundraising                  – Events organisation                      – Marketing

Details of the skills and knowledge sought in each area are detailed below:

Fundraising

  • Experience of successful fundraising; within a charitable organisation is desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of diverse fundraising practices, examples may include but are not limited to: grant applications, bequests development, crowdfunding, friends groups, corporate giving
  • Strong networking skills and experience
  • An understanding of the fundraising challenges facing small to medium charities in the UK
  • Knowledge of the mountaineering/climbing community is desirable

Marketing

  • Marketing and/or public relations communication expertise
  • Strong networking skills and experience
  • Application of marketing strategy expertise in a charitable organisation is desirable
  • Knowledge of the mountaineering/climbing community is desirable

 Events

  • Events organisation expertise
  • Strong networking skills and experience
  • Experience of events management in a charitable organisation is desirable
  • Knowledge of the mountaineering/climbing community is desirable

There are four Trustees’ meetings per year; Trustees must attend three out of four meetings, one of which can be remotely via teleconference if required.
