Joe Brown is confirmed as first MHT Patron

MHT are thrilled to confirm that the legendary Joe Brown has become the first Patron of the Mountain Heritage Trust. We are extremely honoured to have his encouragement and support for the vital work we do.

The climbing legend made a rare public appearance last night. He thrilled a packed theatre at the Royal Geographical Society in London giving what he claimed to be his first lecture on the subject of his first ascent of Kanchenjunga in 1955. In a talk that lasted well over an hour he breathed life into the personalities that climbed with him to the first successful British ascent of the peak. One audience member summed it up with a contented sigh: ‘Vintage Joe’.
